Tile Stickers

Author: admin Category: Tile Stickers

Tile stickers are a great alternative to the extensive work of re-tiling your backsplash, bathtub enclosure or shower. There are many times during plumbing repairs when matching replacement tiles can't be found. That's where the stickers come in the handiest.

The only constant in remodeling and home improvement is innovation. There is always a new best style to be used, and that's what contractors, interior designers and architects count on. When the surfaces done in tile in your home begin to look dated, you can use stickers to give them a newer, custom look.

A tile sticker is just what it sounds like – a graphic sticker that you can apply in high-humidity or low-humidity rooms in your home. They can be used to re-color or decorate ceramic tiles in kitchen backsplashes and bathrooms. You will obviously not be looking at stickers when it comes to updating ceramic floor tiles, but otherwise, the decorating options are nearly endless.

You can purchase stickers for ceramic tile in solid colors, such as you would use for an alternating black and white pattern, or designs or themes that will being the existing tiles back to life. After a plumbing job, stickers are a great option if no one stocks your existing tile design anymore.

Installation isn't exactly the correct word to use when you're talking about using tile stickers to remodel ceramic tile in your home. Application is a more appropriate term. You'll begin by cleaning off all your tiles completely. Then determine what design you will be creating, and apply the stickers to your tiles. If you are remodeling a room with a complete color scheme change, be sure that you align the corners correctly, so that they won't look crooked when you are finished. When you are re-doing patterns, you can make a chalk line across all the tiles rather than measuring them from the grout lines. The grout lines aren't usually perfectly even, and if your pattern is crooked, it will show up.

As long as you use stickers made of high quality materials, you can relocate them if you don't like the way your pattern or design turned out. They stick like auto decals do, so you will be able to pull them off and reinstall them where you want them. Be sure that the new location is cleaned, before you apply the stickers.

Tiling stickers are usually impervious to moisture and water, and they can add new life and style to even the wettest walls in your home. They have opaque coverage to help hide unwanted tiles. You don't need glue to apply them, and there is not any sticky residue if you take them off, or reapply them. Many stickers are available in various colors and designs, and some designs give you a vintage look with a crackled finish.

Using stickers can really add new life to your old decor, whether you apply them on bathroom walls or a kitchen counter backsplash. Tile stickers can add a touch of class to any room in your house, without the hassle of financing a remodeling project.
