Kitchen Tile Stickers

Author: admin Category: Tile Stickers

You can create custom designs on your kitchen walls with the use of kitchen tile stickers. These are quite simply like decals for your wall tiles. They come with adhesive backs, and you can apply them to your tiles by removing the backing and then smoothing them onto the tile surface.

If you get into more elaborate tile designs, they can get rather expensive. If your budget won't allow for these intricacies, but you want a new look for your kitchen, these stickers are easily applied and not very expensive.

Tile stickers range in type from cute little shapes made for kids' bathrooms, to patterns that are so sophisticated that they look very realistic. The transfers are an alternative to the replacement of expensive tiles, and they can give you a brand new look. They are quite handy for renters, who can't make permanent changes, but who want their own sense of style to show through. Tile decals or stickers are often applied to bath or kitchen tiles, perhaps as a mural, pattern or border. You will want to choose a design that will be in harmony with your existing decor.

When you use tile stickers in your kitchen, they can be applied to the tile on walls, counters or backsplashes. The more traditional patterns are floral designs, and vegetables and fruit. But the decals don't have to be pictures of anything, they can also just be designs that add to the look of the room. Kitchen tile stickers can be an inexpensive way to give your kitchen a fresh look.

If you want a pattern but not a picture for your tiles, you can select a geometric design or a mural, that will serve to update the plain look of older tiles. A mural can create an effect that is quite dramatic if you have a boring, blank wall. Show a street view or an outdoor scene, or perhaps even re-create a wonderful work of art. If your mural seems to be too elaborate for a kitchen, you can buy solid decals and use them to create a pattern like a checkerboard.

If you will be using your tiles in an area that is often wet, like a countertop or backsplash, select only designs that state they are waterproof. Otherwise, they will be forever peeling. Measure the tiles carefully before you purchase them, so that your art will be the correct size.

Be sure that you only put decals on tiles that are smooth, like ceramic tiles, and don't apply them to surfaces that are textured, because they may not stick correctly. Make sure to clean your tiles before you apply stickers, and don't over-do your design so that it's gaudy or busy. Stick with a simple pattern. The decals are removable, so if you decide you don't like the full size design, you can always take them off.

Many different manufacturers sell decals for tiles, to be used in kitchens and bathrooms. Even though prices will vary, you can usually get a packet of four or five decals for ten to fifteen dollars. If a contractor has some left over from a job site, you may be able to get them at a much lower price. If you have to remove older stickers before you put yours up, you can use a razor to remove the old decals, making sure not to scratch the individual tiles. Then you can clean the wall and apply the kitchen tile stickers that will show off your design plan.
